Agency History
M Smith Agency is community development...and marketing,
management, strategic planning and everything else that goes into making
progress sustainable.
The business began (quite
unintentionally) in 1998 when Mallory Smith was offered the chance to be the
booking agent for Eulenspiegel Puppet Theatre. Many years and an MBA
later Mallory is still making arrangements for the puppets to tour
throughout the Midwest.
The list of clients and services has grown. There are more
artists: Dave Moore, a
musician and songwriter, Clarence Williams and The Rising Sons a gospel
quartet, and Valentín
Ruiz, a traditional Mexican guitar-player and singer.
There are organizations: World of Difference, bringing cultural experiences to schools
and communities in Iowa; Buy Fresh, Buy Local Iowa bringing farmers, markets
and restaurants together to promote the delicious local foods grown and
prepared in Iowa and Midwest Community Development Institute, training
professionals and volunteers to bring lasting change to the towns and cities
where they live.
There's even a place, Louisa County, Iowa, one of the
most charming locations you might ever visit or be fortunate enough to call
home.
